We show this as being compatible with the Marconi BXR5000 or the ECI Data Networking Division's ST200 Service Edge Router.
Network Processor Blades perform hardware-based forwarding of traffic between interfaces on the router at line rate, using a highly scalable lookup operation to determine forwarding (i.e., next hop) and Type of Service (ToS) treatment. The cards also perform such functions as packet classification, filtering, policing, queuing, marking, and shaping. NPBs work in concert with Physical Interface (PHY) cards, delivering a wide range of Layer 2 and Layer 3 services on the ST-series. The cards provide wire-speed performance, unmatched flexibility, robust scalability and sophisticated Quality of Service (QoS).
This is a high density network processor blade with 5Gbps full duplexing throughput and 12 Mpps processing.
